Artalk is a Czech and Slovak web-based magazine about contemporary visual art. In addition to publishing texts, it organises discussions, produces podcasts and publishes Artalk Revue. As a fictional class assignment, we were paired up with Illustrators and tasked to translate the online magazine into a print version.
The project utilises bold colours and playful illustrations in active conversation with the articles themselves. The headlines are set with an extra bold variable font, which stretches to fill out the full text block width and adds a sense of variety and liveliness. The magazine also provides a tear-out weekly calendar of cultural events in Prague and Bratislava.
